Well, simply said, I'm impressed! Simple yellow ion with freak barrel kit, QEV (helps accuracy/consistency), checkit on/off, hybrid feedneck.
Obviously it rips, and with vision didn't chop a single ball, not one. HAPPY!
The field wasn't that great and it started raining, but still a great night with my awsome toy. My brother brought along some of his friends, one of which has a shocker. He loves the ion as much as he loves his gun. Hell its lighter and just as fast, only a few things it isn't as good as the shocker with...
You should see the streams I'm shooting, straight as an arrow. I couldn't beleive it, I had a smile on the whole time.
End Result = Ions Rule

Amen, too bad it was raining :-(
Make a vid with your Ion right next to his Shocker and compare accuracy/speed/whatnot
:-D

First off the Ion is heavier then the Shocker. The Ion weighs 2.2 lbs, while the Shocker weighs 1 lbs 14 oz.
Secondly, the Shocker will obviously be faster because it is capped much higher. Accuracy is paint/barrel match for the most part. The only thing to compare is how they sound, and looks.

I love my ion, went down to the ultimate madness in Huntington WV, I had a blast and the gun shot great, the ramp had to be set at 9 so I just put it in semi and took people out all day, it was the best feeling in the world taking out people with Timmys. Also the complements I got for the gun. It put a lot of those critics to bed who do nothing but trash smart parts

I think you are assuming that his buddy has a brand new shocker... Just remember some of us don't have the $$$ to buy a new gun every year...

Since when is accuracy almost all paint/barrel match? That's a verry little part of it. You just can't have paint too big for the insert/back. Accuracy is also part of consistency and the way the bolt is shaped. Paint/barrel match is all hype.

I said mostly....
And no it's not hype. You don't want to small of a bore because the balls have a greater chance of breaking in the barrel from being squeezed. You can use a bigger bore, but your not garaunteed paint on paint because gas escapes around the ball so the volume of air that is suppose to shoot the ball out of the marker becomes less and less.
And no, the bolt shape has nothing to do with it. A bolt is shaped the way it is shaped for a reason, sure if the edges are sharp it may break a ball, but thats it.
And I know consistency plays a role in it. But your saying that barrel/paint match is all hype? Without a good paint/barrel match you will not get good consistency. Most markers now a days except for low end ones such as blowbacks have plenty good consistency, besides we are talking about the Shocker here not an Ion compared to a blowback, and we all know that the Shocker is plenty consistent.
